Oil & Gas
Lifting, transportation, and installation operations involving oversized and heavy components within Oil & Gas facilities, particularly in refineries, represent activities with an exceptionally high level of technical complexity and strategic importance. The combination of confined working areas, structural constraints, and stringent safety requirements necessitates the use of specialized equipment such as high-capacity crawler cranes and all-terrain mobile cranes, hydraulic lifting systems, and SPMTs, all supported by meticulous engineering planning.
The efficiency and safety of these operations depend on the synergy between engineering design, operational experience, and advanced technologies, enabling plant downtime to be minimized, risks to be reduced, and the integrity of the components being handled to be fully preserved. Through a multidisciplinary approach and the deployment of highly qualified personnel, Autovictor ensures precise, reliable, and safe execution of these operations within highly complex industrial environments.
Planning and Engineering Operations
During the initial phase of each project, the Autovictor team carries out comprehensive technical and engineering analyses aimed at developing feasibility studies and detailed operational planning.
This process includes the assessment of the dimensional and weight specifications of the component to be handled, topographical surveys and site inspections to evaluate obstacles, interferences, and internal logistics routes, as well as meticulous verification of the load-bearing capacities of both ground conditions and existing structures.
Once the assessment criteria have been established, the team proceeds with the development of the lifting or transportation plan, defining the most suitable and safest crane type and configuration (for example, crawler cranes or all-terrain cranes equipped with jib or superlift systems). CAD and 3D studies of the operational sequences are then prepared, including, where required, tandem lifting operations or tailing procedures performed with Autovictor SPMTs.
Internal Transportation and Positioning
For internal transportation activities, Autovictor employs state-of-the-art equipment, including self-propelled modular transporters (SPMTs), to move components from the logistics area to the final installation point.
These transporters feature a load capacity of up to 48 tonnes per axle, 360-degree electronically controlled steering operated remotely, and multi-axle self-levelling suspension systems, enabling synchronized, millimetric movements in confined environments, even while the plant remains in operation.
Final Installation in Refineries and Oil & Gas Facilities
The lifting and erection of columns and reactors are frequently carried out by Autovictor through upending operations (tailing procedures) performed using two cranes: a primary crane (main crane) and an auxiliary crane (tailing crane). These operations require perfect synchronization between Autovictor operators. The extensive experience of our personnel represents a guarantee of safety and reliability.
The installation of heat exchangers or compressors often takes place within highly confined spaces between pipe racks and existing steel structures. In such situations, Autovictor utilizes more flexible lifting equipment with reduced dimensions and capacities, allowing final positioning operations to be performed safely and with maximum precision
